Dreamy journals

I just found these gift books by Blue Mountain Press. PEACE features quotes from Gandhi. DREAM has quotes from MLK Jr. LOVE is Mother Teresa. BELIEVE is Desmond Tutu (who also wrote the forward for the books). There's lots of white space in these books so I'm going to use them as journals and let my words mingle with the inspirational words of these giants.

I was lucky enough to find these in the Bargain Books section at Borders for $1.99 each!

Here are some of the quotes:

"Be kind to each other--I prefer you make mistakes in kindness, than that you work miracles in unkindness." - Mother Teresa

"Differences are not intended to separate, to alienate. We are different precisely in order to realize our need of one another." - Archbishop Desmond Tutu

"Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"The law of love governs the world. Life persists in the face of death. The universe continues in spite of destruction going on. Truth triumphs over untruth. Love conquers hate." - Mahatma Gandhi

On the radio

oh, oh, oh, oh on the radio. (With apologies to Donna Summer) Just wanted to let y'all know I was on the Tavis Smiley Show over the weekend. And the Tattered Cover podcast of my reading of Children of the Waters is now online.

Idaho Springs

A repeat post from October 2007 when I went on a research trip to Idaho Springs. Think I gotta plan another trip up there soon.
