Oooh, Carleen, i like it. I liked the first one too . . . but the first one seems more fallish and since your book is coming out in late winter, I think the lush garden cover will really draw people in.
As a graphic composition, the first cover appeals to me more. But as a book cover to attract my attention, the second one definitely wins. I always look at anything with flowers to see whether there's gardening or plants in the plot.
Congratulations on getting such an appealing new cover.
I like them both!! I like the print for the words "Orange Mint and Honey" in the first one but I like the flowers in the 2nd one...I'd buy either if I was going strictly by the cover. The first was "homey" feeling and the second makes you wonder "hhmm..what does this title mean...what is the story going to be about". Which do you love best is the real question..it is your baby after all!!
As for me: I like the new cover much, much better. But will it sell better...who knows? I have faith and confidence that this book will do what it's supposed to do and be what it's supposed to be.
I like the first cover much better. It's not that I don't like the new one, however, the first one is very unique. I can't wait to read it. How much longer do we have to wait. By the way, I ran across your blog through Tayari Jones' blog. You post some interesting things here. Keep up the good work.
Jennifer, Thanks for stopping by. And thanks for your comments about the covers. I agree about the uniqueness of the first cover, but it makes me think of a cookbook when I look at it. I definitely see pros and cons with both covers.
Oh, I think the new cover fits the story so much better and even though I'm admittedly "cover blind", it appeals to me more too. It's beautiful Carleen.

What do you think?
I love the new cover. The old was okay but the new is beautiful. Brings to mind the bees that make honey and herbal gardens.
Wow, they're incredibly different...
Both are appealing, but I agree with both Judy and Lafreya on the new cover's feel.
It's beautiful and really seems to suit the Gardener author. :)
I love the new cover! It's so pretty and romantic! It definitely attracts me as a buyer.

I too thought "cook book" when I initially saw the first cover. It is unique and appealing but ultimately gives the wrong first impression.
I like the new cover and know it will do well.
Congratulations Carleen.

Words for writers to live by, Carleen! Congrats on the new cover! K.

I like both! I know this is not helpful...
