Everything your family never, ever wants to know as an Xmas gift
Fellow (Sister?) Literary Ladies Janis Jaquith and Bella Stander often send announcements about freelance writing opportunities. This one takes the cake.
Ha! Seems to me if I wanted to create a mythology about my life to foist off on my family, I'd be looking for stories that put me in a more heroic light. Like, there's the story about that year when nobody knew where I was but I was...yeah, I was living in an orphanage in Calcutta giving Mother Theresa a hand, yeah, yeah, that's the ticket! And then when I said I was out in California doing auditions for B movies and reality TV shows I was...um, er, I was living in a women's shelter, coaching women and children to get their GEDs...uh yeah! And then when I was writing and asking you to send money because I was soooo broke it was really because I was running an immunization clinic in the third world somewhere...really, I was.
Amazing. Just what I WOULDN'T want for Christmas, for cryin' out loud. People continue to ummm...surprise me.
Carleen, thanks for your comment on my blog. Unfortunately, I DO take meds. They (and the many I have tried) don't work very well for me. Thanks for the concern though.

Is it just me, or does it really seem that people are willing to do anything nowadays to get their 15 minutes of fame? And for Christmas, no less.
