Disconnecting

Ello's a lawyer and she's got a must-read post about legal issues involved with blogging.

Yesterday, I found a groovy new place to write. I will not divulge because I don't want it overrun with Denver writers. :) It was great to be away from all the things I allow to distract myself. I don't have wireless access, so no blogosphere or internets. No fighting cats. No chores. Just me and my lap top (and a guy doing homework and a few women having a business meeting). I actually got some work done. I'm going back next week.

Good for you! Now if only I could find a place to write where those pesky customers from my day job would quit calling me :)

Damn those people who pay our bills! Don't they know they get in the way of our art? :)

Carleen, thanks for the link! I thought this would be a boring post and am surprised that it has speared lively and funny conversation!

Isn't it great when you find a secret writing place? Mine is my local Barnes and Nobles that is really writer friendly with wireless that you have to pay for which keeps my cheap ass from signing up and lets me get a few solid hours of writing in on days or nights I'm free to run off and write.

You guys are all killing me, lol! My quiet writing place is my home WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN SCHOOL!! And when the laundry's done, the house is clean, the weeds are pulled....

I wrote Souvenir almost entirely at home, while I was working part-time for a lit journal.

Now that I'm writing full-time, I'm more productive AWAY from home (and Internet access, as Ell noted).

I guess it's all good, as long as the writing gets done!
