Lifetime TV and Me

The news is out. From Publisher's Marketplace. Thanks to those who emailed me about it.

TELEVISION RIGHTS
Carleen Brice's first novel Orange Mint and Honey, an African American mother-daughter story which explores the devastation of substance abuse and parental neglect, and celebrates forgiveness, redemption and second chances, optioned for television to Stephen Bulka at Lifetime, by Caron Knauer, on behalf of Victoria Sanders & Associates.

This is for a television movie on the Lifetime Movie Network. As they say in the TV biz, stay tuned....

In other news, my health hit a bump this week. I spent a couple of days in the hospital. But the prognosis is excellent and I expect the healing to continue.

In the hospital a few days? And you failed to let the LLL network know so we could all come visit? LOL, just kidding, though at least we could've dropped off a few meals at the house. Take care and rest up, kiddo.

As for the big news I am SO going to email it to my book club and have a special showing here when the movie comes out! Do you remember the dream I had (about watching the movie of your book) right after I read OM&H? I mentioned that at the lunch the other day and thought Deb Fine was going to fall out of her chair, lol! Congrats!! K.

What exciting news about the movie rights! That is awesome; hope it makes it all the way through the process!!

I hope you are truly and well on your way to recovery. Please take good care of yourself. I'm in LA this week and thought of you and all your adventures here a few weeks ago as I've passed bookstores.

Not so glad you had to be in the hospital. :(

Very glad the prognosis is "excellent." Hope you feel completely better soon.

Great news. I've been to email you for several weeks. Ever since I finished reading.

I loved the novel and having an alcoholic father myself I could really relate. I wanted more when I was finished and I was rooting for Oliver from the first time you introduced his character.

Ah, Carleen, HURRAY!!!!! THAT'S FANTASTIC NEWS!

Sorry, you've been ill. I hope you are truly on the mend. xo

Thanks everybody! The Lifetime deal is VERY exciting. There's actually a good shot that the movie will be made.

Even better: I'm feeling a little more myself each day, but I've got a couple of weeks of taking it easy (and seeing doctors) in store.

That's really wonderful news! I'm looking forward to the movie.

Glad you are out of the hospital and getting better each day. I know it sucks to be laid up when so much is happening with your book, but getting some rest after all the publicity you've been doing will be good for you.
